Hubert Earl Edwards of Halifax passed away at his home on May 3, 2017.

He was born in Northampton County on March 30, 1945. He was the son of the late Richard Mark Edwards and Hazel Faucette Edwards. In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his brothers, John Franklin Edwards, Arthur Wayne Edwards, and his sister, Margaret Edwards Daughtry.

He was the owner and operator of Cash and Carry Cleaners of Weldon for many years, and was also a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Hubert is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Edwards, of the home; his son, Stephen Mark Edwards, and his wife, Wendy, of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren, Clarissa, Brittany and Stephen Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Robin; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Riley and Caleb; his sister, Marie Harris, of Weldon; two sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services.
